What Is LASIK?

Laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) is a surgery that reshapes your cornea through the use of lasers. It’s a quick and precise procedure that can correct myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and astigmatism, enabling you to see clearly without glasses or contact lenses.

LASIK is typically painless, its results are immediate, and its recovery period is short. In many cases, the surgery can be performed on both eyes in under 15 minutes, and since it’s an outpatient procedure, you will be able to relax in the comfort of your own home as your eyes heal. The surgery is quick and pain-free, generally producing results in only 15-30 minutes.

Why LASIK?

If you’re looking for a lens-free approach to clearer vision, you may want to consider LASIK eye surgery.LASIK can be used to correct a number of vision problems, including nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), and astigmatism. Not only is LASIK fast and effective, it’s also a common and trusted procedure — more than 3.000,000 people elect to have the surgery each year.Imagine: no more cleaning fingerprints off your glasses. No more updating prescriptions. No more accidentally poking yourself in the eye or forgetting to take your contacts out before bed.
